In the last years of his life he was occupied with finding out the identity of the Messiah. However, he did not publish his own books. He was one of the most prominent rabbis that existed in Israel.
In 2006 he died of pneumonia at the age of 108 years. Several hundred thousand people attended his funeral in Jerusalem, which was described as the largest funeral in Israel’s history
Kaduri never told anyone the name of the Messiah; but before he died, he left a note on a piece of paper which was placed in a sealed envelope and was only allowed to be opened until a year after his death.
